Membership

How do I become a member?
To become a member, you are required to complete a membership form with your personal information (e.g telephone number, address). A membership form is available from the directors of Taichara (Barbados) Inc or on the website.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?
You
may cancel your membership at any time. However, your membership fee is non-refundable and you are still required to pay any outstanding fees to the company

Rental
and Delivery Process

What is the rental process?
a)
Step One: Browse
Browse the printed catalogue which is available from any of the
friendly Taichara officials or the online catalogue which is
available at
www.taicharabooks.com
b)
Step Two: Choose
Choose a maximum of six books.
Rental Fees: $2.50 for each book
c)
Step Three: Make your order
Submit your order via phone, internet or a face-to-face meeting
with any Taichara official.
d)
Step Four: Enjoy your books
Receive your book delivery and you can keep your books for up to
three weeks.
e)
Step Five: Return
Order more books and we’ll pick them up.

How many books can I rent at any one time?
Members
can borrow a maximum of six books and can keep them for up to three weeks.

What are the rental fees?
Novels - $2.50 per book
Text Books - 1/3 of the books cost
(please note: a refundable deposit of the 1/3 of the
book’s cost is required for the rental of text books)

What is the return process?
There are two ways to return the book. Members can either drop the books in conveniently located drop boxes or have them picked up when they order more books.

chats and Workshops
11. What happens at a book chat?
Members discuss a book which members have read. The book is usually selected a few months in advance to give members time to read the book at their leisure. Members may choose a book and run the sessions. A book that is selected before hand is discussed and we spend the evening discussing the book

What happens at a workshop?
At workshops, there will be a featured topic and speaker. Workshops are planned months in advance. All workshops prices will be announced when the workshop is available for sign up. All tools necessary for workshops will also be announced at this time. Unless stated otherwise all workshops are for adults.

Is there a penalty for returning books late?

overdue fee of $0.25 will be charged for each book per day.

accept donations from members and non-members.

21. Can I sell books to the book club?
We are willing to accept books from individuals. However, we do not provide cash on receipt of books. Individuals will receive a voucher equivalent to the purchased price that will entitle them to rent books free of charge.

There are textbooks that are available for rental. Please bear with us as we are currently building our stock. At a later date, our textbook scheme will be officially launched.

official launch of the textbook scheme will be announced three
months before the actual date. However, there is a limited
stock of books available at the present.
